Sensex, Nifty Open Higher Led By IT Stocks

Indian shares traded higher despite mixed global cues, as strong U.S. labor market data dampened rate cut expectations. The Sensex rose 269 points, or 0.4%, and the Nifty was up 83 points, or 0.4%, in early trade. Hero MotoCorp, Adani Ports, LTIMindTree, Wipro, and SBI Life all gained around 2%. NHPC jumped 5% after committing to an investment of Rs. 4,000 crores in Gujarat. Nestle India fell over 2% as shares turned ex-date for a stock split. Jupiter Wagons climbed 3% after receiving a Rs 473 crore contract from the Defence Ministry. Inter Globe Aviation gained about 1% after Indigo removed fuel charges on flight tickets.
