Silicon Valley billionaires behind secretive new California city reveal proposed development map

From Fortune:

Promoters, who’ve spent $800 million of Solano County land, submitted details of the plan to build a new city between Sacramento and San Francisco as they prepare for the November election. They envision 20,000 homes for 50,000 residents, growing to 400,000, creating 15,000 above-average wage jobs, though it will need voter approval first.

The company could provide housing for workers who make cities run, and could attract businesses away from the state. However, they need to collect about 13,000 signatures from county voters to place it on the November ballot. California Forever plans to spend $400 million to help Solano County residents buy homes in the proposed community, but critics say existing cities such as Vallejo and Fairfield could use investment.

Democratic U.S. Rep. John Garamendi has raised concerns that the proposal of the California Forever plan doesn’t make sense in the middle of areas surrounded by wind farms, gas fields, endangered species, no water, no sanitation system, and no road system let alone a highway system.
