Singapore Stock Market May Extend Losing Streak

Singapore market declines following financial, property, and industrial stock losses. The Straits Times Index fell 0.94% to 3,199.44. Plunges seen in Seatrium, DFI Retail, and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding. There’s negativity from European and U.S. markets. Dow fell 0.76% to 37,430.19 points, NASDAQ dropped 1.18% to 14,592.21, and S&P 500 fell 0.80% to 4,704.81. Federal Reserve highlighted economic uncertainties. U.S. manufacturing contracted at a slower rate in December. Job openings in the U.S. slightly declined in November. Oil prices rose 3.3% to $72.70 a barrel due to concerns over attacks by Houthi militants.
