Soccer game’s popularity scores for EA — and creates a higher bar to clear for growth

Videogame maker EA sees modest uptick in gaming demand during holiday season. Executives expect fiscal fourth-quarter net bookings of between $1.625 billion and $1.925 billion, a slowdown from last year’s $1.946 billion. Full fiscal year net bookings forecasted at $7.389 billion to $7.689 billion. This comes as company navigates life following dissolution of FIFA partnership and industry retrenchment. Net income for third quarter was $290 million, or $1.07 a share. Company reports 1% growth in net bookings for the quarter. Despite competitive challenges, company navigates change in gaming demand following the pandemic.
