From Nasdaq:

1. The Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) and SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) were both down on Thursday afternoon, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor index also falling by 0.2%.

2. Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, confirmed layoffs across several teams, including engineering and Google Assistant, shedding 0.4% on the stock market.

3. Digital rights group Noyb filed a complaint against Meta Platforms, accusing Facebook and Instagram of having a complicated process for users to withdraw data consent, causing the stock to fall by 0.7%.

4. Transphorm soared by over 25% after agreeing to an acquisition by Renesas Electronics for $5.10 per share in cash, valuing the company at about $339 million.
