Tesla demand in Germany collapsed in December YOY

Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk faced challenges when dealing with labor union strikes in Sweden. Meanwhile, sales of Tesla cars in Germany plummeted by a staggering 77% in December, and the UK saw a 9% annual drop. Yet, global sales of Tesla last year reached a record high of 1.8 million vehicles, with the help of its growth in China’s market. The carmaker’s share of the German market was 1.7% in December, seeing an 18% decrease from the previous quarter. The closing of their Model Y production line in Germany in December was a costly decision for Musk.
