Tesla Faces a Higher Bar for Hype in 2024

In 2023, Tesla shares rebounded after a tough 2022, positioning the company as the most traded stock. However, competition from Chinese rival BYD poses a challenge, as BYD outsold Tesla with approximately 526,000 electric vehicle deliveries last quarter compared to Tesla’s 485,000. This marks the first time Tesla has been outsold on a quarterly basis. With BYD offering cheaper vehicles in a larger home market, Tesla may face increased competition in the future.
