From CNBC:
In 2023, Toyota’s RAV4 nearly took the third top-selling spot in the US, ranking right behind the Ram pickup. The RAV4 sold just 10,000 units less than the Ram, significantly closing the gap from over 133,000 units less in 2020. Ford’s F-Series pickups, including the F-150, led the industry for the 42nd consecutive year, with General Motors’ Chevrolet Silverado following.
Toyota’s RAV4 continues to excel, aligning with the brand’s growing lead as America’s second bestselling automaker. Vehicles such as the RAV4 and Honda CR-V offer economical options for people’s lifestyles and budgets amid high interest rates and economic uncertainty.
New vehicle sales in the US during 2023 were stronger and more consistent than expected, marking the industry’s best year since 2019. Automakers sold 15.6 million vehicles, a 12.3% increase from 2022. December sales were surprisingly strong, with a 13% increase compared to December 2022.
