Trump may testify in his new defamation trial with E. Jean Carroll

Former President Donald Trump is set to testify in the defamation trial against E. Jean Carroll, who accused him of sexual assault. He has complained to his lawyers about the trial being a “witch hunt” and a “con job” and could be thrown out of the courtroom if he continues to do so.

Trump was charged with defaming Carroll after calling her a liar for claiming he sexually abused her, to promote her memoir. He was fined $15,000 for violating a gag order by his comments about court staffers and is appealing the order.

Trump is dealing with four criminal cases and a civil fraud case as he faces Carroll’s lawsuit. He has also scheduled campaign appearances in New Hampshire, which has its Republican presidential primary on Tuesday.

Carroll has asked for rules to be enforced on Trump’s statements during his testimony and his lawsuit for defamation has been divided into two parts.Lawsuit. She won $5 million from the first trial and is seeking over $10 million in the second lawsuit. She claims Trump assaulted her and destroyed her reputation.

Trump has said he will testify to defend himself against Carroll’s allegations. His testimony could show that his comments on Carroll came when she was doing media interviews and journalists were asking him about her and show his “lack of ill will or spite.” He has also admitted to meeting Carroll after a 1987 charity event.
