Will Solid Client & Datacenter Aid AMD’s Q4 Earnings Growth?

From Nasdaq:

Semiconductors and microchips manufacturer Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is projected to show growth in their Client segment for the fourth quarter of 2023. Boosted by an increase in global PC deliveries and the release of high-end desktop processors and laptop GPUs, AMD is expected to report solid top-line growth for the quarter. Gartner’s latest report indicates a 0.3% year-over-year increase in global PC shipments totaling 63.3 million units in the 4th quarter of 2023.

AMD’s Client revenues are anticipated to increase by 19.4% to $1.18 billion. Meanwhile, the company benefits from a diverse product portfolio, expanding partner base, and strong sales growth for their fourth-generation EPYC CPUs. This has led to significant gains in enterprise data center sales, with forecasts indicating a 37.3% increase in Data Center revenues, expected to reach $2.27 billion.

The reintroduction of the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 Series processors and the launch of the Radeon RX 7900M graphics processor have been key drivers of AMD’s growth. Their strong partnerships with tech giants like Dell, Microsoft, Amazon’s cloud arm Amazon Web Services, Alibaba, and Oracle have further cemented their position in the industry. Microsoft Azure has announced the deployment of Genoa-X HPC instances, which offer more than five times higher performance in technical computing workloads compared to their previous generation. Dell is leveraging AMD EPYC fourth-gen CPUs in its latest PowerEdge C6615 server, while AMD is expanding its data center footprint with the new Instinct MI300X accelerator.
