Wolverine World Wide sells Sperry to Authentic Brands Group

Sperry Top-Sider has been sold by Wolverine World Wide to Authentic Brands Group and the Aldo Group for $130 million, aimed at paying down debt. Wolverine initially acquired Sperry in a deal that included other brands as well. The decision to sell Sperry comes as retailers look to streamline their businesses. Sperry has seen a significant revenue decline, leading to the decision to sell. Authentic Brands and Aldo Group’s interest in Sperry make “perfect sense” for their operating model.
