Each company offers unique competitive advantages and has outperformed the S&P 500. However, Alphabet stands out as a smart buy in February due to its foundational cash-cow segment and undervalued stock.
On the other hand, semiconductor giant Nvidia is worth avoiding in February due to potential red flags. Its gross margin may come under pressure as output increases, and competition from AMD and Intel could impact its market share. U.S. regulators have also restricted chip exports to China, costing Nvidia billions in sales. With these challenges, Nvidia is not a wise investment.
