Adobe Brings Conversational AI to Trillions of PDFs with the New AI Assistant in Reader and Acrobat

Adobe has introduced AI Assistant in beta, a generative AI-powered conversational engine integrated into Reader and Acrobat. The AI Assistant generates summaries and insights from lengthy documents, answers queries, and formats information for sharing. The tool leverages the same AI and machine learning models behind Acrobat Liquid Mode, providing a deep understanding of PDF structure and content. The AI Assistant offers features such as generative summary, intelligent citations, easy navigation, and formatted output. It respects customer data and can be used with various document formats. Adobe’s vision is to use generative AI to transform the value of digital documents. Future plans for AI Assistant include insights across multiple documents, AI-powered authoring, editing and formatting, intelligent creation, and AI-supported reviews. The AI Assistant features are currently available in beta for Acrobat Standard and Pro Individual and Teams subscription plans on desktop and web in English, with features coming to Reader desktop customers in English over the next few weeks at no additional cost. Other languages will follow.
