Nvidia briefly surpassed Amazon in market capitalization on Monday, reaching a value of $1.82 trillion. The last time Nvidia was more valuable than Amazon was in 2002. With quarterly results to be reported on Feb. 21, Nvidia could see a significant increase in value after a 47% year-to-date gain. A bet on strong AI demand has propelled Nvidia to become the best performing stock among the “Magnificent Seven” with a 223% surge over the past 12 months. Microsoft recently overtook Apple to become the world’s most valuable company, with Alphabet at the third spot.
