Best and Worst Performing Funds in January

India and Japan funds were top performers in January 2024, with India Select and Jupiter’s India funds both achieving over 8% growth. Technology funds also prevailed, led by Janus Henderson Global Technology Leaders with a 7.9% increase. Japanese TOPIX was up almost 7% and remains the only country with negative interest rates.

China funds continue to be among the worst-performing, with the property giant Evergrande’s liquidation dragging down funds, including Baillie Gifford China. Additionally, Nikko AM ARK Disruptive Innovation fund, last year’s best performer, fell by 12% in 2024. The market also saw declines for metals and energy transition features.
