Best-Performing Eurozone Dividend Stocks of January

In January 2024, dividend-paying stocks such as Mota-Engil, Antin Infrastructure Partners, and Banca Popolare di Sondrio led the way with impressive performances in the eurozone. These stocks are valued for their combination of healthy balance sheets and hefty yields, contributing to a 9.7% increase in the overall Morningstar Eurozone Dividend Yield Focus index over the past year.
Mota-Engil, a Portuguese engineering and construction company, saw its stock rise 34.6% in January, while French asset management firm Antin Infrastructure Partners gained 23.8% and Italian engineering and construction Banca Popolare di Sondrio increased by 20.3%. These companies boast forward dividend yields of 1.88%, 3.75%, and 3.97%, respectively, offering strong annual dividends to investors.
On the other hand, German software company SAP gained 15.3% in January, contributing to its overall 50.3% increase in the past year. Meanwhile, French gambling company La Française des Jeux demonstrated solid performance with a 14.6% increase in January, despite ending the last 12 months down by 0.6%. These companies have varying dividend yields, with La Française des Jeux offering an impressive 3.64% yield, while SAP’s yield stands at 1.27%.
These performances were measured against the Morningstar Eurozone index, which tracks the performance of the eurozone’s broad regional markets. The index gained 11% over the 12-month period, closely in line with the 9.7% increase in the Morningstar Eurozone Dividend Yield Focus index. These dividend stocks have shown resilience and outperformed the overall market during this time frame.
