Beyond Meat launches new, healthier version of burger

From CNBC:

Beyond Meat is releasing a new, healthier version of its plant-based burger, with 20% less sodium, made with avocado oil. The company hopes this new launch will revive interest in their meat alternatives as the plant-based meat category has seen a 33.6% decrease in sales from a year ago. Beyond’s sales and market value have also declined significantly, falling 29% and 60% respectively. The latest burger iteration is said to have less sodium and saturated fat than ever before and uses new ingredients such as red lentil and faba bean proteins. Beyond also claims to have worked with experts, including the Stanford University School of Medicine, to develop the new product. The company is expected to report its fourth-quarter earnings after the bell on Feb. 27.
