Big Delta Amex credit card changes (improved companion certs, increased annual fees and more)

From Fortune:

Six Delta airline credit cards have been revamped, now offering additional statement credits and benefits. The annual fees have increased as well. Each card now includes Delta Flight Credits, Stay Credit for hotels booked through Delta, Rideshare Credit, and Resy Credit for discounted meals at participating U.S. Resy restaurants. There’s also a fast track to elite status, improved companion certificate, and enhanced spending perks for small business credit cards.

Additionally, Delta Platinum cards now receive Hertz Five-Star elite status, while Delta Reserve cards receive top-tier Hertz President’s Circle elite status. The enhanced companion certificate now allows travel to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, or Central America. The credit cards also now allow you to book Delta first class and Delta Comfort+ in addition to Main Cabin seats.

All Delta Platinum and Reserve credit card variants now receive 2,500 Medallion Qualifying Miles each year, and upgraded MQD earning rates, to help cardholders fast track their way to Delta elite status. There have also been increased welcome bonuses to new cardholders for a limited time.

Notably, the annual fees have been hiked up for all six Delta credit cards. The changes offer more yearly value. However, some benefits may be niche and require lifestyle adjustments to maximize value. For those who will use the new perks frequently, the cards are a great choice.
