Brookfield Renewable Reports Record Results and Announces

From Barchart:

Brookfield Renewable Partners reported a record year in 2023, generating $1.095 billion in FFO and adding almost 5,000 megawatts of capacity through development. Despite a net loss of $100 million or $0.32 per unit, the company deployed $9 billion into growth and closed a number of significant transactions, including Westinghouse and Deriva Energy. The company also executed approximately $15 billion of financings, finishing the year with available liquidity of over $4 billion. Brookfield Renewable is confident in achieving its target deployment of $7-8 billion over the next five years and growing cash flows and distributions in line with targets. The company scaled their development capabilities and delivered almost 5,000 megawatts in the past year, while also pulling forward their pipeline. Their advanced stage development pipeline now stands at almost 24,000 megawatts. Despite cyclical resource volatility and generation below the long term average at some assets, operatinbusiness continued to perform well and delivered record FFO of $1.1 billion, a 7% increase year-over-year. The hydroelectric segment delivered FFO of $624 million and the wind and solar segments generated a combined $643 million of FFO. Reservoirs have rebounded to start 2024, with the first quarter trending positively compared with the end of 2023. Despite a more challenging year from a resource perspective, the portfolio performed well, benefiting from strong all-in power prices.
