California counties sue Tesla for allegedly mishandling hazardous waste
From Dow Jones & Company:
Tesla Inc. is facing a lawsuit from 25 California counties alleging improper handling, transporting, and disposing of hazardous materials across as many as 101 sites. The electric-vehicle maker could face civil penalties of up to $70,000 per violation per day. This is not the first time Tesla has been in trouble with environmental regulators, having previously settled with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over hazardous waste violations at its Fremont factory. The company has yet to respond to the new allegations. Elon Musk’s $56 billion Tesla pay package is also in limbo after a recent court ruling. For more information, click here.
