CEO Wars: Star Wars Actress Brings The Force Of Elon Musk Against Disney, Lucasfilm

From Nasdaq:

Elon Musk and Bob Iger are embroiled in a feud over the Star Wars franchise. Actress Gina Carano filed a lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm after being fired from “The Mandalorian” for controversial tweets. Musk offered to help fund her legal representation and encouraged others to join the lawsuit.

The lawsuit is ahead of Disney’s first-quarter earnings report. Carano’s case is backed by Musk, the world’s richest person. She made controversial social media posts about the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines, and political subjects.

Carano was also dropped by her talent agency and fired by Lucasfilm. She called the campaign to get her fired bullying and criticized the double standard in her male co-stars’ ability to speak out on similar topics. This isn’t the first time Musk has clashed with Disney. He previously criticized Disney for suspending advertising on Twitter due to his interaction with an antisemitic post.

Overall, the feud between Musk and Iger, and the lawsuit filed by Carano against Disney and Lucasfilm are adding to the negative publicity for Disney.
