Consumer Reports’ top 10 new vehicle picks: Hybrids lead

Plug-in hybrids are highlighted this year, with three making the list, showcasing these vehicles as a bridge between traditional hybrids and fully electric cars.

The Tesla Model Y made a big impact in the U.S. market in the past year, with over 1.1 million battery-electric vehicles sold in 2023. Charging infrastructure challenges continue to make hybrid vehicles a popular choice in the U.S. where electric vehicle adoption is still growing.
