FAA Chief Mike Whitaker on Boeing: current system is not working because it is not delivering safe aircraft’

The new chief of the Federal Aviation Administration said that it’s reviewing Boeing’s manufacturing standards. FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker suggested Boeing isn’t paying enough attention to safety. He voiced concerns about Boeing’s production after an emergency door panel blew off a Boeing 737 Max 9 jetliner over Oregon. Whitaker vowed to “take appropriate and necessary action” to keep the flying public safe.
