FDA warns consumers over use of smartwatches to measure blood glucose levels

The U.S. FDA has warned consumers against using smartwatches or smart rings that claim to measure blood glucose levels without skin piercing. These devices are different from FDA-authorized blood glucose measuring devices that require skin piercing. The agency has not authorized any smartwatch or smart ring to measure or estimate blood glucose values on its own.
