Germany set for 14% drop in electric-vehicle sales

Despite push for EVs, CEO of BMW is expressing cautious strategy, noting that surge in EV growth is slowing. Generous government incentives disappearing and infrastructure and price are roadblocks to widespread adoption. Germany is reportedly set to see a sales drop of 14% in response to the government pulling subsidies from EVs. Germany doesn’t offer much in the way of affordable options. Infrastructure in Germany to support EVs remains unresolved. Rising electricity prices are tamping down demand. Some analysts think Germany’s goal of 15 million EVs on the road by 2030 is unrealistic. Car manufacturers are beginning to hedge EV plans. As a result of EV slowdown, people are holding on to their traditional vehicles longer.
