Guardian Capital Group Limited has announced that it will acquire Sterling Capital Management LLC from Truist Financial Corporation for USD$70 million, subject to customary adjustments. Sterling currently has approximately US$76 billion (C$100 billion) in assets under management and offers a range of investment options. Guardian plans to operate Sterling as a standalone entity, led by its current management team. This acquisition is expected to significantly enhance Guardian’s global scale as an asset manager and expand its future growth platform. Following the anticipated closing of the transaction in Q2 2024, Guardian will integrate Sterling’s investment capabilities to add new strategies and opportunities in the United States.
