There are some pockets of weakness, like the soft results from Discover Financial (DFS) and Tesla (TSLA), but in the aggregate, earnings and revenue growth represents an acceleration from the last couple of quarters.

The soft results from Discover Financial Services and Tesla, Inc. are part of a positive overall earnings picture for Q4. Total earnings for Q4 companies are up +5.1% from the same period last year on +3.4% higher revenues.

Estimates for the 2024 Q1 period are coming down, but the negative revisions compare favorably to the comparable period to the Q4 earnings season.
