Jamie Dimon wants employees back at the office. That should become even easier with JPMorgan adding 500 branches over the next 3 years
From Fortune:
JPMorgan Chase & Co. is launching a massive expansion of its retail banking business, adding 400 new branches in cities and suburbs across the country. A total of 1,700 existing locations will be renovated to accommodate more business customers, particularly patrons in underserved communities and regions with sizable Black and Latino populations.
The major expansion project, which will take three years to complete, will see the investment bank open new branches in low-income and rural areas, committing to financial inclusion in communities traditionally overlooked by major banks. JPMorgan will provide customers in these neighborhoods greater access to the bank’s services and will create 3,500 new jobs, following a similar pattern of growth that has seen the firm establish more than 650 retail locations in the past 4 years.
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon has long been skeptical of the effectiveness of remote work and has been vocal in his belief that in-person interactions are crucial for client relationships and business success. The company’s new expansion plans and renovation projects underline JPMorgan’s renewed focus on in-person customer interactions, acknowledging clients’ need to meet in person for their financial needs.
