Mark Zuckerberg Finally Tries Apple’s Vision Pro And Says Meta’s Quest 3 Is ‘The Better Product, Period’
From Nasdaq MarketSite:
Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg compared Apple’s Vision Pro to Meta’s Quest 3, declaring that Quest is not only a better value, but also a superior product overall. He praised Quest’s mixed reality pass-through, light weight, wide field of view, immersive content library, and controllers. Zuckerberg emphasized the potential return of eye tracking in future Meta headsets.
Zuckerberg acknowledged that Apple’s Vision Pro has a higher screen resolution, but was surprised by the trade-offs Apple made in device quality, comfort, and ergonomics to achieve this. He emphasized Quest’s superiority for most headset uses, despite the price differential. Zuckerberg’s comparison comes after expressing lack of concern over Vision Pro’s price and features.
In a prior company-wide meeting, Zuckerberg had opined that Vision Pro did not offer any “magical” technological advancements that Meta had not already explored. He earlier acknowledged that Vision Pro would provide more “validation to the category”. Popular tech YouTuber, Marques Brownlee, also listed a few things he expects the second-generation Apple headset to include.
