Maserati reveals first GranCabrio convertible sports car since 2019
From CNBC:
Maserati’s new GranCabrio in Trofeo trim boasts a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine. Expected to hit nearly 200mph, this convertible is based on the GranTurismo Trofeo sedan, also powered by the same engine. With 542 horsepower and 460 ft-lbs of torque, it’s a high-performance addition to Maserati’s lineup.
The 2024 GranCabrio is Maserati’s latest offering in the convertible segment, set to release in the U.S. this summer. Built off the GranTurismo Trofeo sedan, it promises a top speed of almost 200mph. Priced at $190,000, this luxury vehicle comes equipped with a powerful 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine.
Maserati aims to increase profits with the launch of the 2024 GranCabrio. Despite a 30% decrease in adjusted operating income in 2023, the Italian automaker sees potential in its latest convertible model. With revenue and sales on the rise, Maserati hopes the GranCabrio will attract performance car enthusiasts worldwide.
The upcoming electric vehicle transition at Maserati raises speculation about the future of gas-powered models like the GranCabrio. Set to go all-electric by 2028, Maserati plans to shift away from combustion engines. However, slow EV adoption across the industry has caused delays in electrification plans for many automakers.
