Microsoft and OpenAI reveal that cybercriminals are using ChatGPT and other large language models to improve their cyberattacks. Russian, North Korean, Iranian, and Chinese-backed groups are employing these tools for reconnaissance, scripting, and social engineering tactics. Identified hacker groups include Forest Blizzard, Emerald Sheet, Crimson Sandstorm, Charcoal Typhoon, and Sodium Typhoon. Microsoft has taken action by disabling their accounts and assets.
