OpenAI introduces AI model that turns text into video

From Nasdaq:

OpenAI, backed by Microsoft, is developing software called Sora that can create videos from text prompts. This tool can generate complex scenes with multiple characters, specific types of motion, and accurate details of the subject and background.

Apart from creating videos from text prompts, Sora has the capability to animate still images, making it a useful tool for visual artists, designers, and filmmakers. However, the software is still a work-in-progress and may have difficulty with spatial details and specific camera trajectories.

The video generation software is the latest project from OpenAI, following the release of their ChatGPT chatbot. Social media giant Meta Platforms has also bolstered its image generation model to compete in the fast-growing generative AI universe. OpenAI is also developing tools to discern whether a video was generated by Sora.
