Shares of China’s Landsea Green rise on plan to buy Texas homebuilder for $185 million

Chinese developer Landsea Green Management’s shares rose by 19% in early Hong Kong trading following the announcement that its Nasdaq-listed unit plans to acquire Texas homebuilder Antares Acquisition for $185 million. The purchase will be funded by Landsea Homes’ internal resources and will help the company expand into the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Landsea Green holds a 54% stake in Landsea Homes, whose shares have risen by 87% in the past 12 months. This news comes after the announcement of Landsea Homes expanding in Arizona with 145 new homesites.
