Top FTSE 100 UK Dividend Paying Stocks

In the latest earnings season, many FTSE 100 companies announced their dividends. Companies like British American Tobacco, Lloyds Banking Group, and GSK paid out billions to UK investors. Some, like Reckitt Benckiser, increased their dividends, while others, like St. James’s Place, cut theirs significantly. Overall, UK dividends totaled £88.5 billion in 2023, with growth expected to be modest in 2024. Companies like Barclays are using share buybacks to drive dividend per share growth instead of increasing cash dividends. While some prefer cash dividend increases, others are content with higher share prices from buybacks. Buybacks are becoming popular globally but are less common in the UK market.
