The University of Waterloo School of Accounting and Finance students won the CFA Institute Research Challenge local competition. The team members will each receive a thousand-dollar prize and advance to the sub-regional competition. The competition focused on the publicly traded company CargoJet Inc, allowing students to develop and present an equity research report.
The winning team from the University of Waterloo will compete in the CFA Institute Research Challenge sub-regional level in March. Winners from each regional level will advance to the Global Final on May 13, 2024. This competition provides students with the unique opportunity to learn from industry experts and their peers, fostering an environment of excellence in finance and business research.
CargoJet Inc was the subject company for this year’s CFA Institute Research Challenge Local Competition. Student teams from Schulich School of Business, York University, Smith School of Business, Queen’s University, and DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University also participated. University of Waterloo was honored to represent the CFA Society Toronto at the competition and will move on to the sub-regional level in March.
