Adobe launches new AI tools and Microsoft partnership

Adobe unveiled 12 new generative AI tools and partnered with Microsoft to expand its AI offerings at a conference in Las Vegas. The company introduced GenStudio, a new generative AI assistant, and capabilities for its content management system to create personalized variations for different customers. Adobe also launched custom models for more control over generative AI image creation.
Adobe and Microsoft announced plans to enhance Microsoft 365 with Adobe Experience Cloud features, integrating marketing insights and workflows. Microsoft has also made investments in AI, including a partnership with Mistral and a reported $13 billion stake in OpenAI. Both deals are under government scrutiny in the US and Europe.
Adobe’s previously launched generative AI model, Firefly, has been used to create digital designs and images. The company trained Firefly on images from Adobe Stock, openly licensed work, and public domain content to ensure safe commercial use. Adobe’s announcements did not include video capabilities, leaving OpenAI’s text-to-video tool Sora without a major competitor.
OpenAI’s Sora tool, which generates videos from text, has been shared with a limited number of artists for feedback. Concerns over deepfakes and misinformation have led to restricted access. Artists have described the results as “surreal” and believe it will open new possibilities for artistry.
