Amazon (AMZN) to Boost Reach in APAC With Saudi Arabia Region

From Nasdaq:

Amazon Web Services (AWS) plans to launch a new infrastructure region in Saudi Arabia by 2026 to meet growing demand for cloud services in the Middle East. The region will have three availability zones offering low latency and access to AWS’s services like AI and machine learning, boosting AWS’s presence in the market.

AWS is also investing in Malaysia, Japan, Australia, Israel, Thailand, and New Zealand to expand its cloud infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region. With significant investments in these countries, AWS aims to capitalize on the region’s cloud technology growth potential, benefiting from a projected 15.1% CAGR in the APAC cloud market between 2023-2030.

In response to AWS’s expansion in APAC, competitors like Microsoft, Google, and Alibaba are also ramping up their presence in the region by opening new data centers. Microsoft Azure is set to launch centers in South-Central India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and Saudi Arabia, while Google and Alibaba are making significant investments in various APAC countries to strengthen their cloud offerings.
