Apple is in talks with Google and OpenAI to use their large-language models for new iPhone AI features, with an announcement expected in the summer. CEO Tim Cook is focusing on smaller-scale on-device AI features for iOS 18, seeking a partner for cloud-based generative AI. Siri is set for an overhaul.

Apple plans to improve Siri’s interaction with the Messages app in iOS 18. Investors worry Apple may struggle to keep up with AI advancements. New features are expected to upgrade Siri to the “ultimate virtual assistant.” Apple released iOS 17.4.1 and iPadOS 17.4.1 with bug fixes and security updates.

Gurman denies rumors of an iPad announcement on March 26. The U.S. Department of Justice filed an antitrust lawsuit against Apple. Apple plans to use ultra-thin bezel technology to maximize display size on the iPhone 16 series. Apple rumored to refresh the entire AirPods lineup with new models. New iPad Air and OLED iPad Pro models expected to be announced on March 26.
