Savers who invest in global equities through ISAs may soon become millionaires

From Morningstar:

Savers who have consistently maxed out their ISAs and invested in global equities may soon become ISA millionaires, according to a Morningstar report. Cash ISAs are more popular than stocks & shares. Government data shows total adult ISAs at £741.6 billion. The new British ISA could encourage more equity investments than cash.

Introduced in 1999, ISAs allow tax-advantageous savings. ISA owners pay no income, dividend, or capital gains tax. The current ISA allowance is £20,000, but products like the Lifetime ISA and new British ISA have different limits. Different types of ISAs offer varying investment opportunities and tax benefits.

Becoming an ISA millionaire through equity exposure is a popular topic, especially with the potential of expanding personal financial portfolios. Despite challenges like inflation, achieving a £1 million ISA pot may seem elusive to most savers. Regulatory efforts to provide more advice to investors are crucial for maximizing ISA potential and reaching financial goals.
