Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun to step down; board chair and commercial head replaced

Boeing’s CEO Dave Calhoun, along with Chairman Larry Kellner, is stepping down at the end of 2024 in a management overhaul. Stan Deal, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, is leaving immediately. Stephanie Pope will take over Deal’s position. The changes come amid increased scrutiny on Boeing’s quality and manufacturing flaws following an Alaska Airlines flight incident. Airlines have been expressing dissatisfaction with Boeing’s manufacturing quality controls and production levels. Calhoun has vowed to address Boeing’s challenges and improve safety and quality standards.
