Odin Vision, a startup specializing in cloud-connected AI software for endoscopy, was acquired by medtech leader Olympus. The acquisition aims to revolutionize endoscopy through AI and cloud technology, reaching more patients globally. Odin Vision also collaborates with NVIDIA on the Olympus Office Hours program to accelerate AI solutions in healthcare.
AI can reduce the miss rate of precancerous polyps during colonoscopies, providing an extra set of eyes for clinicians. Odin Vision’s AI software CADDIE helps detect and classify polyps, receiving regulatory approval in Europe and deployed in multiple countries. The software also assists in gastroscopy for throat cancer detection.
Odin Vision started as a research project at University College London and now uses NVIDIA GPUs and Triton Inference Server for accelerated inference. They are developing generative AI models for automating clinical notes and aggregating procedure data. This will help endoscopy teams track performance compared to clinical guidelines.
Membership in NVIDIA Inception has accelerated Odin Vision’s technology development and deployment. Cloud-based solutions facilitate software updates across hospital customers, improving workflow efficiency. Access to technical expertise from NVIDIA has been instrumental in validating their product concept and optimizing GPU performance.
