Vanguard reports a median balance of $70,620, while an Empower article shows a balance of $209,382 for Americans in their 60s. To catch up on savings at 60, max out 401(k) contributions, contribute to an IRA, consider delaying retirement, and relocate or downsize. Strategies like these could lead to financial security in retirement.
