Here’s How Much the Average 60-Year-Old Has in Their 401(k)
From Yahoo Finance:
At age 60, the average retirement age is 61, but many Americans work into their late 60s. The average 60-year-old has $70,000 to $210,000 in their 401(k). Vanguard reports a median balance of $70,620, while an Empower article shows a balance of $209,382 for Americans in their 60s. To catch up on savings at 60, max out 401(k) contributions, contribute to an IRA, consider delaying retirement, and relocate or downsize. Strategies like these could lead to financial security in retirement.
