Kevin Plank returns as CEO of Under Armour, Stephanie Linnartz steps down

Founder Kevin Plank is returning as CEO of Under Armour as Stephanie Linnartz steps down after just over a year in the role. Plank founded the company in 1996 and previously served as CEO before stepping down four years ago. He will resume his position on April 1, with Linnartz staying on as an advisor through the end of April. Plank will also remain a director on Under Armour’s board.

Linnartz, who spent nearly 30 years at Marriott International, was tapped to lead Under Armour for her experience in digital sales and loyalty programs. Under her leadership, the company launched UA Rewards and focused on expanding the women’s assortment. Plank praised Linnartz for her contributions to strengthening the leadership team and consumer strategy during her tenure. Linnartz expressed pride in the progress made under her leadership, stating the company has a strong foundation for future growth.
