However, the rise of super-donors poses challenges for nonprofits and wealth advisors, who must adapt to a top-heavy philanthropic landscape. Women are rising forces in philanthropy. Ultra-wealthy donors prefer private foundations and donor-advised funds. Top charitable causes for the rich include education, arts, culture, and health care. Religion, a top cause for Americans, ranks lower amongst ultra-wealthy donors. Charitable giving trends are shifting towards a concentration of funds directed by a small group of mega-donors.
