New York Community Bank (NYCB) lost 7% of its deposits before securing a $1 billion-plus capital injection from investors led by Steven Mnuchin’s Liberty Strategic Capital. Deposits fell from $83 billion to $77.2 billion as of March 5, following Moody’s downgrade to junk status. The bank also cut its quarterly dividend by 80%.
