The New York Times sues OpenAI and Microsoft for using its articles to train AI

The New York Times filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft, alleging that OpenAI used Times articles to train AI chatbots, and Microsoft used this technology in Bing and other products. OpenAI argues that this use falls under fair use. Microsoft filed a response asking to dismiss certain claims made by the Times.
Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging that the company violated its original mission by prioritizing profit over the benefit of humanity. Musk claims that OpenAI sold rights to AI technology to Microsoft, which led to a change in OpenAI’s approach. Regulatory agencies are investigating the relationship between OpenAI and Microsoft.
