Physical Intelligence, a new company, aims to develop AI for robots and physical devices. The firm is in early stages, backed by OpenAI, Khosla Ventures, and others. It plans to create a universal AI model for various applications. Unlike Amazon’s humanoid robot, Physical Intelligence will focus on software, not hardware.

Amazon is testing a humanoid robot in its warehouses, made by Agility Robotics. The company plans to produce 10,000 robots yearly. In contrast, 1X raised $100 million for its humanoid robot NEO, designed for home tasks. Physical Intelligence focuses on software training for physical tasks, unlike hardware-focused companies.
