OpenAI Expected to Launch ‘Better’ GPT-5 for Chatbot Mid-Year

OpenAI plans to release GPT-5, the next version of its popular ChatGPT model, in the coming months, likely during summer. The new model has shown significant improvements and potential capabilities, with internal training ongoing. Safety testing and red teaming will follow before a release date. Enterprise sales are OpenAI’s main revenue stream.

OpenAI launched GPT-4 Turbo in 2023 to address “laziness” issues, which plagued its predecessor. Large language models like those of OpenAI are trained on massive datasets from the web but can degrade if not properly maintained. GPT-5 aims to enhance reliability and impress both public and enterprise customers with improved output.
