OpenAI may launch successor to GPT-4 by the middle of this year
Audio PlayerFrom Techzine:
OpenAI is rumored to be launching the successor to GPT-4, potentially named GPT-5, by the middle of the year. The new LLM behind ChatGPT is expected to have new features and improvements, including built-in AI agents for automated tasks. It may also support prompts with text or images and is designed for tasks like sentence composition and coding.
OpenAI has not officially confirmed the arrival of GPT-5 but hinted at a “very special new LLM” in a podcast by CEO Sam Altman. The company is planning to release a lot of new features leading up to any new version of GPT. Altman suggests that OpenAI does not want to surprise users with sudden updates and will release GPT-5 in a different way.
The new OpenAI Model, possibly GPT-5, is still in the training phase and undergoing tests internally before external testing for fine-tuning. This process aims to fix any issues before the public release of the new LLM. The uncertainty remains about the name and specific details of the upcoming release.
