Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, accusing the company of deviating from its original mission to develop AI tools for humanity’s benefit and becoming a for-profit entity. Altman responded, stating Musk wanted control over OpenAI and had plans to merge it with Tesla, which OpenAI resisted.

Altman maintains that OpenAI is dedicated to the public good, offering powerful technology for free without advertising or monetization. He expressed disappointment in Elon Musk’s departure and decision to pursue a different path with Tesla, emphasizing the importance of OpenAI’s mission to provide free tools to empower people.
